Inverness President

George has been studying for an honors degree in Geography since 2017. His is Subject Network Junior Researcher for Science, Technology and the Environment based at Inverness College UHI, and was elected to the role of Student President in March 2019.

George works with Inverness College UHI senior management and a variety of external stakeholders to champion the views of students. He meets with students on a daily basis and encourages any student to contact him directly should they have any issues during their time at University – no matter how big or small.

A large focus for George and his team over 2019-20 will be protecting EU students, staff and opportunities despite the shadow of Brexit. George is also keen to ensure that every student has the best possible experience at university and will support all initiatives that make this happen. He is passionate about sustainability and working towards a more sustainable university. His overarching ethos is that there are no problems, only solutions.

Outside of meetings, George is keen on travel and getting outdoors - with lots of photography along the way!
