Find Your Community: Introducing Student Networks

Looking for a safe space to make friends and find support? Networks are the place to be if you want to meet other students with similar experiences. Find out more in this article!

In the 2023 HISA Student Survey, students told us they wanted more opportunities to connect with other students in their chosen community at UHI. We are therefore introducing our new Student Networks. These networks are communities of your fellow students, with specific shared characteristics, who come together to socialise, plan activities, campaign on issues, and much more!

Looking for a safe space to make friends and find support? Networks are the place to be if you want to meet other students with similar experiences.

The following networks are open to any who self-identify:

We also have lots of student groups, like sports and societies, that will help you make the most out of your student experience!

Do you love sports?

We have sporting clubs across UHI that welcome new members! All clubs take members no matter their ability, and some even include teams that compete in Scottish Student Sports (SSS) and BUCS.

We have football, volleyball, shinty, rugby, snow sports, hill walking, mountain biking, wild swimming, basketball, and so much more!

If you don’t see one you want to join, why not start your own?  Email HISAActivities@UHI.AC.UK to get started with our help.  Or follow the online guidance at Start A New Club or Society (uhi.ac.uk)

Want to get crafty or socialise?

Our clubs and societies offer a range of activity for you! We have Dungeons and Dragons, arts & crafts, living history, drama and film clubs, a Christian Union, and much more!

Remember, you can always start a new club if you have a new idea and a couple friends! Just contact us at HISAActivities@UHI.AC.UK or follow the online guidance at Start A New Club or Society (uhi.ac.uk)
